DAY 1 | PARIS / KITTILÄ

Departure on scheduled Finnair flights to Finnish Lapland with a stopover in Helsinki. Arrival at Kittilä Airport. Transfer to Muonio. Arrival and check-in to your standard room at the selected accommodation.

DAY 2 TO DAY 5 ACTIVE HOLIDAYS IN MUONIO

COMPLETE SCHEDULE WILL INFORMED LATEST UPON ARRIVAL.

On your arrival day you will be transported to your resort directly from Kittilä airport (KTT) or from Kolari railway station. On the first evening you will be having dinner, and you will have a change to pick up your winter clothing either in the evening or on first morning, depending on your arrival time. You will have two activities every day: one after the breakfast and another between lunch and dinner. Aurora programs can also be after dinner.

THE HUSKIES

The most wanted activity in Harriniva is to drive a husky sledge! Imagine yourself in the heart of a snowy forest, surrounded by silence and crisp winter air. This 2–3-hour husky safari offers an unforgettable experience where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and the energy of the huskies. After a brief introduction to the route and safety instructions, you harness the huskies and set off on your adventure. The huskies are eager and ready to take you through snowy trails and forests. The route takes you through beautiful landscapes, allowing you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the winter nature.

THE REINDEER

Spend time at a traditional reindeer farm in the small village of Torassieppi. Here you have a chance to get a glimpse of life in earlier days when visiting a 100-year-old, unique Lappish farmhouse and a reindeer museum. Learn about reindeer husbandry and to throw suopunki, the Lappish lasso. The experience is not complete without the reindeer sleigh ride – test your driving skills on a reindeer tour through the forest.

START YOUR SNOWMOBILE ENGINES – TWICE !

Explore the frozen wilderness of Lapland on a snowmobile safari! The thrilling snowmobiling tour takes you to beautiful snowy sceneries, across frosty forests and frozen lakes. During 6 and 7-night stays you will have two snowmobile experiences – one during the daytime and the other in the evening to hunt for the mystical Northern Lights! For the 5-night stays, the snowmobile tour is on daytime.

SKI LIKE A FINN

You have probably heard that Finns are born with skis on their feet. It is almost true, and you can find your inner Finn by learning how to ski with cross country skis. The classic style is easy to do and keeps you warm on the coldest days.

SNOWSHOEING IN NATIONAL PARK

Visit the Pallas National Park, the largest fell area in western Lapland, and breathe in the purest air in the world.

Hike higher up the fell and experience the most beautiful views and the vastness of the fell landscapes around you.

THE LAND OF 1000 LAKES AND RIVERS (This program is only for 7-night stay.)

Ice covered lakes and rivers hold a secret underneath. The fish can be caught year around with traditional ice fishing techniques with a rod from a hole or with a net that is under the ice and the techniques vary according to the water – lake or river!

LAPLAND RELAX IN THE ARCTIC SAUNA WORLD

Finland and Sauna = inseparable combination! But what makes the Finnish sauna The Finnish Sauna and how it differs for other saunas. How to behave in sauna and what is the best way to dip into the ice-cold lake. Our introduced sauna tour takes you through the history of Finnish saunas and introduces you to different sauna types in the Arctic Sauna World. After the tour you can recognize the different behaviour expectations if having sauna in a public or in someone’s home.

AURORA SNOW SHUTTLE

This excursion takes you to a campfire deep in the quiet, snowy forest, far away from the light pollution. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the winter nature in the darkest time of the year. If you are lucky the Northern Lights might join you to this late evening tour!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Snowmobile safaris have a self-liability of max. 1200€ per snowmobile. The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driving license of B-category.

DAY 6 | KITTILÄ / PARIS

Breakfast.

It’s time to leave the heart of Lapland, hoping you’ve had an unforgettable time.

After breakfast, transfer to Kittilä Airport. Flight to Paris on Finnair scheduled flights with a stopover in Helsinki.
